UAE e-invoicing: appoint your ASP before 30 October

UAE businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Newage connects your freight invoicing to the ASP channel, so every invoice leaves in the structure the UAE system expects.

  • Invoices raised in NewageNXT, exchanged through your appointed ASP
  • Data checked against Peppol PINT AE before it leaves the invoice screen
  • Transmission status tracked on every invoice, from sent to reported

We’ll walk through your invoice flows, ASP options and the steps to go live on 1 January 2027.

From 1 January 2027

A PDF emailed to a customer stops counting as a tax invoice. Every invoice has to travel as structured data, through an accredited provider.

  • Structured, not PDFInvoice data in the Peppol PINT AE format.
  • Through an ASPExchanged between your provider and the buyer’s.
  • Reported to the FTATax data passed to the Federal Tax Authority as it moves.
  • Raised in NewageNXTYour billing team keeps working where it already does.

Who must appoint an ASP, and by when

The Ministry of Finance moved the Phase 1 ASP deadline once, from 31 July to 30 October 2026. The 1 January 2027 go-live did not move with it.

What changes for a freight forwarder’s invoice

A forwarder raises hundreds of invoices a week across freight, origin, destination and customs charges. Each one now has to be structured, validated and exchanged through an ASP instead of attached to an email.

How a UAE e-invoice moves

The UAE uses a five-corner model on the Peppol network. Your invoice starts in NewageNXT and passes through two accredited providers, with tax data reported along the way.

  1. You raise itIn NewageNXT, from the shipment’s charges.
  2. Your ASPValidates it and sends it across Peppol.
  3. Buyer’s ASPReceives it for your customer.
  4. Your customerGets structured data, ready to process.
  5. FTAReceives the tax data from the ASPs.

Frequently asked questions

For businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, the deadline to appoint an Accredited Service Provider is 30 October 2026. The Ministry of Finance extended it from 31 July 2026. Go-live stays 1 January 2027.

An ASP is a provider accredited by the UAE Ministry of Finance to validate and exchange e-invoices over the Peppol network and report tax data to the Federal Tax Authority. Every business in scope must appoint one.

Failing to implement the e-invoicing system, including not appointing an ASP on time, can bring an administrative fine of AED 5,000 for each month or part month of delay. Without an ASP you also have no compliant channel to invoice from on 1 January 2027.

Businesses under the threshold appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027, under the timeline published by the Ministry of Finance.

NewageNXT connects freight invoicing to your appointed ASP, so tax invoices and credit notes raised from the shipment are validated and sent in the Peppol PINT AE structure, with each transmission status shown on the invoice.

For businesses in scope, no. From go-live an invoice has to be issued as structured data and exchanged through an ASP. A PDF can still be shared as a copy for the customer’s convenience.

PINT AE is the UAE specification of the Peppol international invoice format. It defines the fields and structure every UAE e-invoice must follow.
